It has been reported that the Reds have offered Aston Villa a package in the region of £14million, which included Peter Crouch and Scott Carson, for their England international midfielder Gareth Barry.
"It is particularly disappointing to find out that Liverpool, I think, have carried the story in their local paper - it is certainly not the way the Liverpool of old would have conducted business,” O’Neill told Sky Sports.
“They haven't made a straight cash offer. They have made a miss-mash of nameless players in exchange. As I said I am particularly disappointed to find our business being conducted in public.”
