At the Under-19 European Championship, Benik Afobe scored but England were beaten in the semi-finals by Greece. Arsenal XI kick off their pre-season campaign this saturday against Boreham Wood.

Arsenal revealed their new away kit for the 2012/13 season, which has a purple design. The Club announced changes to its ticketing approach, while tickets for Arsenal's friendly in Cologne on August 12 went on sale. An announcement was made that all Arsenal's tour matches will be shown LIVE on Arsenal player. Striker Joel Campbell joined Spanish side Real Betis on a season-long loan, while former Arsenal youngster Gavin Hoyte agreed a deal with Dagenham & Redbridge. Elsewhere, Arsenal Ladies Centre of Excellence youngster Holly Greenwood carried the Olympic torch through Cambridge.
