Jeremie Aliadiere will be out for at least three months after damaging ligaments in his right knee just 10 minutes after coming on as a substitute in the 3-1 win over Manchester United.

The France Under-21 striker was carried off after falling awkwardly following a tackle and is due to have a scan today.

Aliadiere's absence may now put a block on any move for Francis Jeffers.

The Arsenal forward was offered to Charlton on a season's long loan but the player, who was signed for £8million three years ago, rejected the move.

Jeffers wants his future sorted out on a permanent basis - and that may now mean he stays at Arsenal, who have heavy European as well as domestic commitments.
