Wenger: I'd only join Real if I was a tramp on the streets

ARSENE WENGER last night taunted Real Madrid by insisting he would take over at the Bernabeu only if he was homeless and unemployed.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez would love to take Wenger to Spain but the Arsenal boss has told him to forget it.
Wenger believes he can turn Arsenal into a much bigger club and is ready to commit himself to a new long-term contract at Highbury.
Wenger said: "If tomorrow I'm in the streets with no job, I will not turn Madrid down. I have no desire to leave here.
"I'm happy where I am and I rate what I have. My target is to develop this club and the team and I feel I still have a big job to do here." Real Madrid have upset the Arsenal hierarchy on countless occasions by trying to lure their manager and star players like Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira.
Now Real find themselves in a state of crisis after losing their first Champions League match 3-0 to Bayer Leverkusen, and without a permanent manager after Jose Antonio Camacho resigned amid claims of a power struggle with his big-name players.
Real president Perez had to intervene yesterday to keep the peace as the English players at the club - Michael Owen, David Beckham and Jonathan Woodgate - were in danger of becoming isolated from the Spanish-speaking contingent.
Back at Highbury, Frenchman Wenger still has a one-year option to extend his current contract and has already opened talks with chairman Peter Hill-Wood over a new deal.
Wenger added: "The chairman's right to be confident about me signing a new contract because I have no desire to leave. I expect to sign my contract by the end of the year."
