Robin celebrates his equaliser

Robin van Persie has made a big impression in the last two Arsenal games. First came the opener against Manchester City last Wednesday and on Saturday he scored a superb last minute goal to salvage a point at home to Southampton. Afterwards, Arsenal.com canvassed opinion from two of his fellow frontmen and his manager.

Dennis Bergkamp "He is a very skilful and very effective player in front of goal. He has put in a lot of hard work since he has been here and been very patient. He is another player who can make a difference.

"All these players love to come on and show what they can do. They want to be a part of this Arsenal team. He is another one with the skills. His strength is coming too and that is important in the English game."

Thierry Henry"He just has to let the football do the talking. We are all here to help him. Today when he came on you thought straight way something would happen. I was on the other side when he scored and it was an amazing goal. He has a great left foot. It is never easy when you first arrive, look at Jose and look at me. Hopefully that goal he scored against Manchester City has helped."

Arsène Wenger "I am very happy with him. He looks as though he has mastered that position. There were 10 or 15 players in the box when he scored but he found an angle to score the goal.

"I believe he will play as a second striker, like Dennis Bergkamp."
