关于年轻球员的表现 总的来说结果比较公平。我们开始因为缺乏经验有些被动。但是总的来说我们表现很好。我们是一支非常非常年轻的球队，但是这支球队有着光明的未来。

关于下半场 “我们下半场看上去缺乏创造足够机会的能力。我们没能创造出真正有威胁的进攻，我们缺乏穿透力。但是我很高兴小伙子们表现很好，他们没有放弃。”

从观赏的角度评价比赛

“有6万7千名观众观看了这场比赛，我在想我们是否满足了他们。你应该问问现场的观众今晚有没有看到他们想要看的比赛。这场比赛对于他们来说不够精彩。曼联很早取得领先，之后便收缩得很紧。如今英国的趋势是五名中场加一个前锋。这看起来很实用，但是对于观众来说很乏味。你将看到更少的进球。”

Wenger: 'This young team has great potential'

ARSÈNE WENGER

...on his young team's performance They did themselves justice. We were caught a bit with inexperience at the start. But overall we did very well. We had a very, very young side but this team has great potential.

...on the second half "We looked a little bit lightweight to create enough chances in the second half. We did not create enough to be really dangerous and we lacked penetration. But I am happy because the youngsters did very well and never gave up."

...on the game as a spectacle "There were 67,000 people here and I wonder whether we gave them enough. You should ask the people here tonight if they got what they wanted. The game was not open enough for them to enjoy. United scored early and they kept it very tight. In England there is a trend where teams start to play with one up front and five across the midfield. It looks efficient but it will be boring for the spectators. You will see less goals."

...on the plus points "For us it is useful competition because I can really see my young players under pressure. Considering the youth of side and the difference in experience, I still think it is a positive night even though we are frustrated because we went out of the competition.

"I just feel we lack one or two games for these boys to be able to compete in this kind of match. If we had one or two more experienced players we could have got a result. The oldest player on the field was 21 apart from the goalkeeper at 27. We had some 17-year-olds in there so it is a good learning process."

...on their first team chances Three or four players are close to playing for the first team - they need more experience but they have big talent. Some will get their chance soon because we have some big, big games coming up and some players are suspended.

...on United's tactics At the moment in England we are moving towards a trend where teams play five across the middle and one up front. The system is working for Manchester United in the Premiership so they used it with their reserve team as well.

...on Robin van Persie Robin shows great potential but he has to learn to keep his nerves under control and not get over-excited. I considered bringing him off because he was involved in some heated moments.
