Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admits he is worried about his side's form, after watching them record just six points from their last five Premiership games.
Since losing their 49-game unbeaten run to Manchester United, the North London giants have been eliminated from the Carling Cup, suffered poor domestic form and struggled to find their stride in the UEFA Champions League.
With Chelsea in imperious form at present, the pressure is on Arsenal to reaffirm their title credentials - with Jose Mourinho having already labelled Manchester United as their main rivals for the title.
Wenger concedes that he needs to rejuvenate his charges and that last season's exploits need to be banished to history - as the club gets back to basics to find form.
''We have to be realistic. Last season was the exception, not the norm,'' said Wenger.
''The history of English football will tell you what happened last season won't happen again.
''It isn't disastrous but I'm not happy at the moment.
''We are well below our standard and I'm more worried about that.
''My worries are concentrated purely on what we are doing, more than whether there is one more team up there challenging now Chelsea are stronger alongside United.
''The problems are on our side.''
