Mark Howard:
Made a couple of saves from set-pieces, but overall wasn't really involved
Lauren:
Done okay, linked well with Hleb down the right
Pascal Cygan:
Defensively good, but the opposition didn't pose much of a threat
Philippe Senderos:
Same as Cygan
Justin Hoyte:
Played on the left in the first half, didn't really notice him. On the second half he switched to the right to compensate for Cole's arrival, and done better as he was able to go up and attack the right flank.
Robert Pires:
Glimpses of skill, used his creativity to make play happen when we attacked.
Mathieu Flamini:
Never stops running this boy, was okay defensively, good at linkup play and going forward and he even got his goal. Another was disallowed. Very good performance overall.
Alex Song:
Same as Flamini, put out a fantastic performance. He's very good defensively and great at winning balls, very physical aswell. Going forwards he made some good passes, has great technique, and likes to attack down the centre. Overall great performances. Will be a good addition.
Alexander Hleb:
Played down the right, great passing, good touch and quick thinking. Was a little packed down the right but he showed how a good addition he was.
David Bentley:
There's potential, played 90 minutes, was alrite on the ball, got his easy goal, and overall a decent performance. However this was his first match for quite a while so he needed this to get back to form
Thierry Henry:
Scored a fantastic goal, was a threat but looked a little rusty by giving away quite alot of balls
Vito Mannone:
I think he only touched the ball two times, he could have even sat down and read a book to be honest
Ashley Cole:
Fantastic going up and attacking down the left, played some good link-up play and got in some good goalscoring positions. Really glad he's staying here, and he was a constant threat.
Kolo Toure:
Didn't really have much to do, got an open goal tap-in disallowed though.
Johan Djourou:
Didn't really notice him
Jose Antonio Reyes:
Glimpses of excellence, made good crossfield passes, but still tries running past opponents too much. Got injured, but I was told he was taken off as a precaution.
Fredrik Ljungberg:
Very composed on the ball, played in the middle, was involved in alot of link-up play
and got in some good goal scoring positions
Sebastian Larsson:
Didn't really notice him, was involved in link-up play
Dennis Bergkamp:
Played well, scored a beautiful goal, "1 more year" anyone?
