Emilia生长在瑞典，但她父亲却是一位埃塞俄比亚的
爵士音乐家，所以她其实有一半黑人血统。Emilia的音乐
中除了舞曲和一般Euro－beat式的欧式流行元素外，还明
显带有节奏和布鲁斯及灵歌等黑人音乐的风格，也许亦是
得益于早年父亲的教诲。 在音乐学校求学期间，她和她
的朋友们组织了一支名为AhundaPeople的乐队，主要翻唱
一些灵魂乐作品。在乐队期间她也开始对现场表演产生了
兴趣。不久后，环球唱片公司瑞典分公司Rodeo的老板
LasseAnderson看中了Emilia颇富磁性的嗓音，决定与乐
队签约。“我在几年前就发现了Emilia的天赋”，
Anderson后来说，“当时她所在的乐队主要玩一些节奏布
鲁斯及疯克作品。她的嗓音的确很棒，有黑人特有的韵味
。而且她很快就适应了在录音棚中演唱，真是个天才。”

在同Rodeo唱片公司签约后不久，Emilia就决定单飞了。“我想表达自己的思想，做自己的音乐。”她说“我是黑人女歌手TracyChapman最
忠实最狂热的歌迷，而她的音乐激励着我去做一些属于自己的东西” Emilia的自信在整张专辑中得到了体现。她的嗓音很象美国著名黑人女歌
星WhitneyHonston，沉着而略带沙哑，这在20岁左右的女孩中并不多见。Emilia这些得天独厚的条件使她迅速在欧洲站稳了脚跟，而且马上又受
到美国及亚洲歌迷的欢迎。 目前Emilia的唱片在瑞典已卖过了3白金的数量。而首支单曲“Big,BigWorld”则成为了瑞典历史上流行速度最快的
一支歌，在6天时间内就卖到了金唱片数，而11天后则卖出了超白金的销量，并连续7周稳坐冠军宝座，在挪威、丹麦、奥地利、荷兰、比利时、
英国均上到了排行榜的前10位。
美国环球唱片总裁MonteLipman说“我们能够适时地推出Emilia是很幸运的，她的走红速度快得让人咋舌，现在已红遍瑞典及整个斯堪的纳
维亚半岛。事实证明她的音乐在许多国家受到欢迎。” Emilia看上去就象是一个爱整洁的乖女孩，尤其在唱“Big,BigWorld”这样慢歌时，她
显得十分纯情而古典。在其快歌的MTV中，你会发现她的表演很象10多年前唱“IWannaDanceWithSomebody”(我想与人共舞)的WhitneyHouston。
这就是Emilia，一个长得象VanessaWilliams，唱得象WhitneyHouston的女孩。也许对她而言，这个“大千世界”还有着许多惊喜等待她去追寻
，去发现。
