原名欧阳靖(Au-YeungJin)，今年才21岁的MC靖是美国首名华人饶舌艺人，早在今年初，他虽还未推出专辑但已倍受当地媒体瞩目，权威的《纽约时报》(New York Times)，甚至还以《亚洲饶舌艺人开腔，痞子阿姆走着瞧吧！》("Slim Shady, Watch It: Asian Rapper's Got It")的标题，为MC靖写了篇光彩的报道。
MC靖的饶舌唱片发片，新加坡是他亚洲巡回演出的其中一站。
而他控诉亚洲人在美国仍被视为二等公民，被人误解的火爆歌词，让美国人注意到：华人在黑人当道的hip hop乐坛发出第一声怒吼了。
配合MC靖的首张英语饶舌唱片《其余的通通已历史》(''The Rest is History'')的亚洲巡回演出，他上个星期二来本地China Black开演唱会，在本地街头文化圈中造成震荡，之前，这说得一口流利粤语的ABC男孩也与《早报·现在》做了专访。
作为美国第一名被大Hip Hop唱片公司Ruff Ryders签约，唱片交由百代发行的华人饶舌艺人，欧阳靖—MC靖肩负着重大的任务。而他也认清自己所扮演的角色，在《同声呐喊》（Same Cry）里唱道：“我必须开口，不吐不快。没我，我族就只有沉默。”
在这黑人及白人当道的Hip Hop圈里出现他这么一个黄皮肤的独角兽，在一首《学华文》里唱道：“每次给他们骚扰到我要爆炸／火车本来就应该给我们免费乘坐，现在的铁路当初不就靠我们建做!”就是一个强有力的宣言了。
MC靖说：“我不是要说我们华人比你们黑人、拉丁人、犹太人受到更多歧视，我只想代表我们亚洲人说出我们每天所碰到的异族成见。我在里头唱的：‘你们将学华文，’不是真的要他们去学讲华文，而是要他们通过我的歌去了解华人不一定只是能做电脑数学专才，或只能在唐人街开洗衣店、唐人餐馆、送外卖。
“我希望我每次带头打破他们的一个成见，他们就会被逼用不一样的眼光来看亚洲人。”
连续七周夺冠军吓坏美国人
MC靖真正受到广大观众注意是3年前在电缆频道BET每星期举行的“106 & Park's freestyle MC赛战”中连续7个星期夺冠军。这壮举让美国Hip Hop意识到：哗！这个华人居然Rap得比黑人还好。比赛评判是美国著名的饶舌艺人WyclefJean。之后，MC靖便被签入Wyclef的公司Ruff Ryders，成为同门师兄弟。Wyclef还为MC靖的《学华文》献声，在歌里肯定他是“第一个华人饶舌艺人。”

他笑说，饶舌赛战（Freestyle Battling）是一种临场发挥，用饶舌口技把对手的弱点数落得哑口无言而胜利的“骂战”。当然作为唯一的华人，他知道自己肤色及老美对亚洲人的成见都成了对手攻击他的弱点，所以早已练得金刚不坏之身，见招拆招：“你要胜在脑筋快，口才好，自作聪明，天不怕地不怕。其实我是在当了艺人后，被你们媒体成天‘第一个华人饶舌艺人’这样写，才对我们的身份过于自觉。”
MC靖在美国迈亚密出生，父母是从香港移民到那里开中国外卖餐馆的华侨（他在《学华文》里也细数了帮父母送外卖的往事）。
MC靖把他的华文名“靖”刺在脖子上，一如《学华文》的歌词所说的：“I'm a CHINA man”，为华人的骄傲。
塞钱请同学播放处男作
他笑说，14岁前，他还在迷张学友、谭咏麟的流行K歌。某天无意间听到他平生的第一首Rap歌后，被里头的街头精神与动感迷住了。到了15岁他不单是听，而是钻研Hip Hop，沉迷于找出最棒的饶舌MC。他也开始在家里用录音机自制饶舌音乐，有一次还塞了5块钱给学校负责扩音系统的同学播他的Rap卡带，结果一播就轰动全高校，同学立刻对他刮目相看。但他也颠覆了他们“华人都是数学很好的书呆子”的成见，而喊他：“那个黄皮肤的黑人小子”（That Black Chinese kid）。
当然你猜对了，他的父母当时并不支持他玩Hip Hop音乐，他说：“父母最担心我rap到忘本，丧失华人身份。因为那时hip hop形象不好，总与黑人的暴力枪击事件挂钩，他们担心我会学坏。”
18岁成年时，他很肯定不想升大学，便全职朝Hip Hop音乐发展，他的父母尊重他的决定，但难免很失望。
他投入了无数场大大小小的饶舌赛战，技艺越来越纯熟，带回家的奖杯一个又一个，还把比赛实况录下带回给父母看。
他就这样用实际的成就来让家人安心。他说：“他们虽不完全明白我在说些什么，但看到台下观众对我疯狂的反应，还见我把周围高头大马的黑人‘骂’下去，他们知道我不是在做坏事。”而他也真的没忘本。他的粤语说得溜，在《学华文》也加入几句广东话。
题材扩至华人的世界观
他尝试在《同声呐喊》扩大华人世界观，触及中国华人问题。由于触及政治地雷区，最近到上海宣传，唱片公司还嘱咐他不要唱这首歌。歌里提到天安门六四事件；中国强制一胎制度（一人超过一种就犯法？／你怎能操纵生育，藐视女人？）；中国工友被跨国企业剥削（“你脚上那双“中国制造”的球鞋百元一双／我们被剥削的中国工友却一天只赚一毛半”）。
华人成为饶舌艺人即使在美国也是个没有人走过的路，因为有他开路，近年越来越多亚洲少年加入饶舌赛战。没有像身边的华裔孩子上大学，他还是有了成功的事业。他之前在美国电影"2 Fast 2 Furious"客串一角，演男主角的车行维修员兄弟Jimmy，现在好莱坞还有人找他洽谈，请他当一部围绕街头文化的电影主角。前星期回香港家乡演唱，他认识了香港前Hip Hop人气乐队LMF的MC仁及DJ Tommy，大家一见如故，打算在未来合作，MC靖对香港媒体透露他已尝试创作中文rap，希望将来推出全粤语rap的唱片。这似乎是个典型的走向国际，成功致富的故事，但你也许会惊讶MC靖并没买大洋房，反而继续跟家人住在纽约市Queens郊区。
说起上星期在波多黎各赢下一场饶舌赛战，带走5万5000美金的奖金及一辆新车，他没有洋洋得意，反而感慨地说：“我从小就看到我的父母在唐人餐馆流汗、打拼，即使从清晨做到深夜，之后还不能大富大贵，全家只能勉强地过活，这样一直熬到现在。”黑人腔再浓、装扮再街头，MC靖内心最深处，还是个脚踏实地、努力向上的华人小孩。
