Arsenal will monitor the fitness of their England full-back Ashley Cole after he aggravated his shoulder injury in training.
Cole was undergoing scans on Wednesday evening but the Gunners are optimistic he had sustained no serious damage.
The original injury happened in the 1-1 draw with Everton last week, although Cole was fit enough to face Middlesbrough at the weekend.
Arsenal visit Aston Villa in the Barclaycard Premiership on Sunday in their next fixture. If Cole is ruled out, manager Wenger is likely to call in left-back Gael Clichy, the young Frenchman who deputised during Cole's recent three-match suspension.
