In progression to become a mid table mediocre club slugging out with Blackburn, Bolton, Villa etc etc for the coveted UEFA cup slot.
I seriously believe that too many fans over here overrate Henry by way too much.
He's good, he's great, he could win you games singlehandedly, no doubt about it, but, that was in the past when his passion and love for the club was unwavering
BUT, Is Arsenal truly a one man squad? Are you sure that given the irrefutable talent in our young squad, we would do s**t once Henry leaves? On the contrary, i personally feels that Henry leaving would do Arsenal and Arsène Wenger world of good.
Arsenal without Henry, would be synonymous to a team without a SuperStar and everyone would be playing, fighting and slugging out hard together as a cohesive unit to overcome all odds.
Has football most effective, most fundamental and imperative prerequisite changed? No isn't it? Teamwork is still the god damn most crucial element of all, and it will always be so perennially.
Henry may be able to win a couple of games individually for you, but can he do it for every games? Cmon, he ain't no god ok.
Evaluate the whole situation and circumstances surrounding Arsenal now,
all we need is time and inspiration for a TRUE leader to get our act together again. Objectively and frankly speaking, I bet other teams' managers, if being blessed with a considerable of foresight, inevitably would start shivering in their dreams once this current unit of young Arsenal matures into an effective and efficient fighting unit.
However, to be able to reach that stage,
we seriously need a leader with passion and steadfast commitment to the club to lead us to glory again....and sadly, the current Henry of late just does not cut out to be the special one.
To better comprehend the pros and cons in the hypothetical situation if Henry isn't around (subjective assessment though)
Cons
1) No recognised, 'undroppable' striker
2) No true world class player
3) MAY slip further down the table due to lack of goals for a few season
Pros 好情况
1) Cohesiveness in the team (IMPERATIVE), because everyone would have an equal chance of playing, if you perform, you are in, if not, you are out. How i admire Mourinho for having the guts to drop players.
2) Hefty transfer fee from Henry, and get us another recognised in the box striker or defender to further bloster the team up. No single world class player may be even beneficial for Arsenal...because, again, everyone would be 'equal' and treatment would be equitable. Fight FOR YOUR CHANCE.
3) Point number 3 of 'cons' may be negated if, the team starts to play as one and without a target man who wants to be involved in everything,
CREATIVITY would seep into Arsenal and who knows that everyone might just start taking up responsibility to score for Arsenal.
Lastly, if you can't understand what i'm trying to put across, then picture yourself in a team full of youngsters, trying their very best for the club, trying to believe that if you are good enough, you would play
but the next moment, your manager told you that you must pass to the a sulking captain, play for him, if not you are out. <---this is what i believe that's going on in Arsenal now.
How good would it do to your morale eh?

* Lastly and finally
from the advent of Royal Arsenal in 1886 (i just hate the dial square name, wtf!) through to contemporary times of Arsenal of 2006, we have a freaking history of literally 120 years! IF Henry leaves, would that means the demise of Arsenal? No isn't it?
Who the f**k cares about one player if he doesn't want Arsenal anymore, Arsenal is Arsenal, we all love Arsenal as a football club, for it's history, it's success, it's failures.
If you support Arsenal only because you love Henry, then that's just too bad. IF he really leaves, all you need to do is to switch your allegiance to another club, simple.
With or without Henry, Arsenal would still progress on through time, be it good or bad, but what is most important is the core spirit of Arsenal would never be gone.
