Newcastle have handed exciting teenager Charles N'Zogbia a new three-year contract - to kill off rumours of a summer bid from Arsenal. The French youngster has been an impressive performer for the Toon this season and it appeats that form attracted interest from the Gunners.
But Toon chairman Freddy Shepherd told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle: "We could not rate Charles any higher than we do, and regardless of anything else it was always our intention to tie him down to a longer and improved contract."
