Almunia attacks Lehmann
Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has hit out at team-mate Jens Lehmann, claiming he has no kind of relationship with the German custodian.
Almunia is now playing second fiddle to Lehmann with the German having established himself as number one at Highbury, as well as for his country, with a string of fine performances this term.
However, the former Celta Vigo star is unhappy with the way Lehmann conducts himself and insists there is no camaraderie between the pair of them.
Indeed, the Spaniard points to last season, when both were getting a run in the Arsenal side, and claims Lehmann was less than gracious about losing his place.
"Lehmann is a very strange bloke, we have no kind of relationship," he told Catalan daily newspaper Sport.
"Last year we were both playing - sometimes he was starting and sometimes it was me.
"There were a lot of games in which I took his place and he even rang up the German national manager to tell him what was happening, something which is a bit cheeky really."
