Team McAlpine, the group that built Arsenal's new stadium at Ashburton Grove, has won the tender to build a new 80,000 seat stadium for the London Olympics in 2012.
Team McAlpine were the only group to submit a bid that met all the qualifying criteria. The company were also responsible for building Telstra Stadium, the main venue for the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and London's ExCel Exhibition Centre.
The stadium will likely cost between £300m and £400m and plans will be unveiled next year.
