Roberto Carlos: Arsenal are Galacticos!
“They are Galacticos!” exclaimed Roberto Carlos when asked what he thought of Arsenal. “When you look at players like Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira, it is clear they are Galacticos. They’re among the best players in the world.
“But it is not just them. Arsenal have a GREAT team, GREAT players and Arsene Wenger is a GREAT manager.
“They know how to play Samba football and are one of the strongest sides.”
It's certainly something to be compared to the likes of Luis Figo, Zinedine Zidane, Ronaldo and Raul, and I think we'd give Real a damn good game if the two teams ever matched up. I don't know if we'd win it, but we'd give them a good run for their Euros.
An in-form Bergkamp, Edu, Pires and Henry, with Vieira dominating the midfield, would unlock any defence in the world, especially since Real don't have much of a defence - or a defensive midfield!
Cambiasso and Beckham in midfield would struggle to make an impact on Vieira, and if Beckham was switched to the right to avoid clashing with our skipper, Ashley Cole has showed on more than one occassion that he knows a thing or two about handling the England captain.
The thing about Real is that their front players can conjure something out of nothing - as we saw when they played Manchester United last season. Man Utd are no mugs, but were made to look like a pub team when they played Madrid.
Although I think we'd dominate the game, I think it'd be a bit optimistic to say that we'd beat Real outright. We are Galacticos though, no doubt about that.
Financially sound, building a new world class stadium to host the best team lead by the best manager in the world, who wouldn't want to be Gunner?

Arsenal top World Club rankings
According to FoxSports World, Arsenal are the top club in the world, beating even the mighty Real Madrid into second place. The ranking list is however, based on opinion, and not performances. It's nice to know though that we are receiving recognition for our performances on the pitch.
ARSENAL (248 pts)
REAL MADRID (232)
AC MILAN (229)
ROMA (200)
MANCHESTER UNITED (199)
UEFA have their own ranking system, based on actual performances. However, the list is a bit suspect, with Barcelona (who suffered a horrendous 2002/03 season in the domestic league but were superb in Europe) well in second place, and Arsenal only 6th.
