AC Milan’s highly-rated French star Yoann Gourcuff is apparently top of Arsene Wenger’s wish-list (along with apparently another 50-60 others) and could be about to become the subject of a £20m bid either in January or more likely in the summer (various).
This rumour surfaced last summer as the 21-year-old former Rennes player was not getting a good run in Carlo Ancelotti’s team. However, this season he has seen far more action and seems less likely to move to north London anytime soon. I think that like many other French footballers, Gourcuff has become linked with a French manager who obviously likes to purchase talented French players. Hence it isn’t hard for a bored journo to put two and two together and make five.
That said, Gourcuff looks like a good player who has a bright future, but that doesn’t necessarily mean this has to happen at the Emirates. Take note, tabloids!
