Arsenal are
leading the chase to sign Lille's highly rated midfielder Eden Hazard. Hazard, 18, is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in Europe and is being tracked by a number of top clubs, including Lazio and Barcelona. Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen his squad during the summer and has been monitoring the progress of the Belgian international who has already made a big impact for his country.
Hazard has been earning rave reviews in the French League this season, but is ready to consider his long-term future and could be set for a
￡6m move to Arsenal at the end of the season.
Hazard said: "I am only young, but if an opportunity arises to join a big club, I would have to consider it."
Wenger admits he is a big admirer of the talented youngster and feels he can become a big star in the near future.
Wenger said: "Hazard is a fantastic young player. He has impressed me so far, and I am not the only one he has impressed."
