Van Persie: Wenger assured me of Arsenal chance
Robin van Persie is confident he can make his breakthrough at Arsenal.
The Dutch midfielder has only been seen in glimpses since his summer arrival from Feyenoord. But he told the News of the World: "Wenger told me he will bring me in slowly. He told me not to expect anything in the first few weeks. But I know it is going to happen for me. Whether it is another week or a month, I know I will get my place in the team."
Van Persie is also about to get a place to live, seven months after his move from Feyenoord.
He said: "I have been living in a rented apartment in Hampstead, but I've just found a house in the city so I'm not homesick any more.
"For the first two months I did miss home very much.
"I was working so very hard. There was so much training that it was a case of train, eat and sleep.
"And in those first two months I didn't see London by daylight.
"But now I have settled and when I think of Rotterdam and Holland it is now just a normal feeling. That's because I have a new life now in London and I'm really enjoying it."
