Gilberto sets February date

Gilberto is poised to get the go-ahead to resume training today after revealing he played for 10 games with a broken back.

The Arsenal midfielder, who hopes to return to first team action by the end of next month, played through the pain barrier for two months before a scan revealed he had fractured a disc in his lower back against Everton in the first game of the season in August.

Gilberto said: "I am feeling well now, much better.

"I will be back soon. I am very positive and very happy and I think I will be playing by the end of February."
