Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal will not be flashing any 'Chelsea money' about during January's transfer window.
The Gunners chief runs a tight ship at Highbury, using a far smaller squad than the plethora of players available at Claudio Ranieri's disposal across London.
And Wenger says his club have no plans to change their style and suddenly splash out on the sort of big-money signings which have characterised the Roman Abramovich era at Stamford Bridge.
In fact, the only way Wenger will be tempted to make a new year signing to boost his title bid is if an outstanding player becomes available at an ordinary price.
'We're not in the market and not desperate to buy,' he said. 'But, if I do get someone, it will be a player I need and will have to be for the right price, not a Chelsea price. I say we're not in the market because I'm not convinced by anyone I want to go for.'
Wenger, whose side beat Wolves 3-0 on Boxing Day, pointed to two big players who did not even feature in the Highbury clash as evidence of his squad strength.
'Money will be available but I have players like Kanu and Sylvain Wiltord who didn't start against Wolves and there's no need to buy players just to add them to my squad.'
Another reason Wenger is not nagging chairman Peter Hill-Wood for funds is the faith he has in his players emerging from the youth team.
The victory against Wolves was a case in point, with Gael Clichy a more than capable deputy for the suspended Ashley Cole in defence. And Wenger believes there are plenty more where Clichy came from.
'If I'm not 100 per cent convinced a new player is miles above what I have, there's no point in doing it as I have talented boys here,' he said. 'When Giovanni van Bronckhorst went to Barcelona, I knew I'd lose cover for Cole but knew I had an 18-year-old with talent.
'For a long, long time, we haven't had quality in our young players - but they do have quality now. They have talent so it's a question of patience. That's a very good position to be in and if you don't throw them in sometime, you don't know about them.'
Arsenal were a class apart from Wolves.
They went ahead through an own goal after 14 minutes by the unfortunate Jody Craddock, who gave away possession for Thierry Henry's strike six minutes later.
Henry, whose sublime skills frequently embarrassed the Wolves backline, capped a comfortable victory with an excellent third goal a minute from time.
Arsenal, a point behind Manchester United at the Premiership summit, face Southampton at St Mary's on Monday night and Wenger has warned his players to expect a bruising encounter as Saints bid to bounce back from their 2-0 Boxing Day defeat at Fulham.
'I believe Southampton will be a very tough game,' he said. It's very difficult down there. They're very physical and hit long balls so we know we'll have to be at our best.'
Clichy is expected to continue to deputise for Cole, who completes a three-match ban.
Wenger could tinker with his team and promote fit-again Lauren and Martin Keown to his first X1.
