Platini also revealed that he came very close to joining Arsenal in 1982. Instead, he left St Etienne for Juventus in a £500,000 deal.
He revealed: “I had long talks about joining Arsenal and I might have signed but for one thing — there are too many games. I like to have time off to have with my family and I also enjoy my holidays.
“But it was a close decision because Arsenal was and still is a good club.”
