Pires hits out at fixture pile-up
Arsenal's Robert Pires has blamed disappointing results by English clubs in the Champions League on the premier league's hectic schedule. "English soccer pays the price for the aberrations of its schedule," the Frenchman told sports daily l'Equipe after Chelsea's 3-1 defeat at 10-man Monaco on Tuesday. "I found Chelsea players very tired. When you have teams playing every three days or every two days and at any time of the day, you always end up paying the price," he added.
