On Sunday, it will be four years to the day since Lauren joined Arsenal.
He arrived as a midfielder but has been converted into a right back by Arsène Wenger. The 27-year-old is now fully established in that position and, after a fine season, he is already looking to extend his spell at Highbury.
“I am happy here and I would like to stay as long as possible,” he said. “This is one of the best teams in the world.
“I have some time left on my contract and we will have to wait and see. But I would like to stay here as long as possible.
“I have enjoyed my time here. My wife is happy here so I am happy.”
Despite just completing an unbeaten Premiership campaign, the Olympic gold medalist believes this side has the ambition to achieve more.
“We are still young players and we are hungry to do good things,” he said. “We would like to improve a lot next year.
“We are the best back four in the league, and we are proud of that. But we want to maintain it in the years to come and keep improving.”
