WENGER IS REAL LOSER OVER VIEIRA By Martin Lipton ARSENE WENGER will make a last-gasp plea to Patrick Vieira to stay at Arsenal another year and try to bring the European Cup to Highbury. Wenger is prepared to tell Vieira that if the Gunners do not realise his ambition of winning the Champions League this season, Arsenal will be willing to sell him to Real Madrid or another club next summer. But with Madrid convinced they are closing in on a ?0million deal, Wenger is facing a near impossible fight. The Arsenal boss has succeeded with the "one last chance" scenario twice before when Madrid were chasing Vieira. But this time he knows the chances of persuading his captain to stay again are slim, with Vieira seemingly set on a bid for Champions League glory with the world's biggest club despite having three years left on his Highbury contract. Wenger and Vieira are scheduled to meet face-to-face in Austria on Saturday when the captain is expected to join the club's pre-season tour. With Real beginning negotiations with Vieira's representatives and keen to bring the deal to a close before the weekend, Wenger is running out of time to make his pitch. Real veteran Ivan Helguera is desperate for the Spanish club to snap up the Frenchman. He said: "Once we sold Claude Makelele it can't be denied that we've not really had a defensive midfielder like him. Vieira is a player who has all the necessary defensive characteristics. "Guti and David Beckham did a good job for us last season but Claude was important for the whole side and this season we need a great player to take his place." If Wenger's silver tongue fails to keep Vieira he will be forced to turn his attention to possible replacements. Liverpool's Steven Gerrard is out of the frame with the Gunners unable to come close to his minimum ?0m valuation, even taking the sale of Vieira into account. Wenger is aware that Real Sociedad's Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso, lined up for an ?m move to Liverpool, has still to begin negotiations. Another possible option is Lyon's Ghanaian Michael Essien, who could be available for as little as ?m. Arsenal should today complete the ?m signing of Ajax defender Hatem Trabelsi after beating off Newcastle to sign the Tunisian international. The versatile 27-year-old, who can play at right-back or in the middle of defence, was at the club's London Colney headquarters for a medical last night. Assuming personal terms are settled, Trabelsi is expected to sign a four-year deal and bolster Wenger's defensive options.

大家伙别发愁了。一来，我对v队有信心，相信他不会走；二来，我对温格有信心，v队真要留不住了，他也能面对困难，重新上路；三来，我就是喜欢这支球队的打法，无论来了谁，走了谁，肯定还是最华丽的进攻足球，那就够了。说实话，我个人对欧冠杯、联赛冠军不是很着紧，关键在过程，在享受比赛本身，结果对我来说不重要，当然，它对俱乐部、对AW很重要，呵呵。

刚在电视上看了个Toure的专访。年轻球员的活力和朝气，轻松又带劲！我看得很开心。有人走过来和我说，我一直咧嘴笑呢。呵呵，是啊，只要看见和枪手有关的一切，我都高兴啊。
