ADAMS RESIGNS

Wanderers will be left to pick the pieces up of another managerial casualty after the reluctant official confirmation that Tony Adams had indeed quit his position of Manager of Wycombe Wanderers.
The shock news filtered in to Chairboys on the Net just after 11.00am. The story was subsequently reported on both BBC national and local radio. Club officials then denied the story through various media before Adams was then quoted on the BBC website in a statement released through his agent.
It said "I would like to thank everybody connected with Wycombe Wanderers Football Club for the time I have spent with them. It has been a good experience and an education. However it is with regret that I resign from the post of manager due to personal reasons. I believe the team is in early development and it saddens me to have to leave before finishing the job I started. I am sure Pete (Cawley) and the players can continue with their good work and achieve all the success that they are worth and is their due."
A statement on the Club's official website finally appeared around 2.30pm and said "Wycombe Wanderers Football Club is not able to comment on the media speculation concerning the resignation of manager Tony Adams. As of 2pm today the club has not received a formal resignation from Tony Adams.
It understands that the manager has spoken to the players and various media outlets. At this time a meeting which was pre arranged for 5pm today with the Chairman has not taken place. Until such a time as Mr. Adams formally offers his resignation there can be no comment on this speculation from the club."
