Wenger eager to keep hold of Wiltord
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has played down mounting rumours that Sylvain Wiltord could join Paris St Germain during the winter transfer window, revealing he has offered the France international a contract extension.
PSG coach Vahid Halilhodzic admitted the Paris outfit was on the lookout for new players in a bid to boost its Ligue 1 title ambitions with Wiltord appearing to fit the bill after an indifferent spell at Highbury this season.
But Wenger, who brought his fellow Frenchman to Arsenal from Bordeaux after his country's Euro 2000 success, has made clear he will not let his player go when the transfer window opens on January 1.
'Wiltord will not leave the club during the transfer window,' Wenger said. 'It is very simple for me, he will stay with us.'
The Frenchman has been out of form this campaign, playing 10 Premiership matches with the Gunners and scoring three times.
'Sylvain has been experiencing difficult times during which he picked up blows and then lost his confidence,' Wenger told Le Parisien. 'But now he is getting better, he is in better mental condition and he is motivated to come back.
'I am sure he will be very important to us by the end of the season.'
Wenger also claimed he had offered the player a contract extension to his present deal which expires in June - from January Wiltord will be able to hold discussions with other teams.
'I have asked him to extend his contract with us and for me the discussions about that will be on stand-by until March or April 2004,' Wenger added.
'We will decide then what to do but he is free to discuss with any other club by then.'

呵呵，确实是希尔万比较准确，不过扯到译名问题了，顺便讨论一下吧。上海这边由于上海台的解说员一直用法语的译名讲解法国球员的名字，所以导致许多译名与英文的译法不一致，我比较习惯法文的译法。即Thierry Henry：蒂耶里－昂立，Sylvain Wiltord：希尔万－维尔托尔，Marcel DESAILLY ：马塞尔－德萨伊等等等等…………

说实话——没良心的隔壁家大妈的三叔公他还是比较赞成卖了小维，因为现在他在阿森纳不能打上主力，年纪也比较大了，很难保证自己的状态，所以要是能去一些较弱的球队当救世主应该比较好一点~~不然浪费的可能性很大，对俱乐部和他自己都未必是好事！
这个三叔公，多没良心，小艾你别不高兴，我去管教一下他！

我已经看见了啦，小维的确老了，但老了也不代表他不能有好的状态啊，老了也照样能够进球啊，这样的例子我想就不用我多说了吧，我现在对小维充满信心！！！
