Dear Arsenal supporter,
We knew before Sunday's game that it would be a tricky one. Newcastle had a competitive advantage on us because they have started the season already.
I saw after 10 minutes that we needed to be patient and not make a mistake at the back. And when Jenas was sent off we needed even more patience. We knew at half-time that we could win the game in the last 20 minutes if we didn't make a mistake.
As for Jenas' red card, it looked like a dangerous tackle to me. I have seen people getting away with that kind of tackle in the English league but when he brought his right leg in and took the standing leg of the player, it was a very anxious moment.
It looked to me like a dangerous tackle, and an unnecessary one, but we didn't want him to be sent off.
I was pleased with the three points but Newcastle played well and I am convinced that they will take points away from home this season.
They have a good midfield, they can keep the ball and they have a good work-rate. You need to be physically strong against them because in the middle of the park they play three versus two.
