Ars鑞e Wenger could play Freddie Ljungberg or Robert Pires up front while he is short of strikers.
The duo normally operate in wide midfield positions but, with four forwards unavailable, the Arsenal manager may push them up front, just behind Thierry Henry.
"If I need to, I will," he told Arsenal.com. "I have done it before, even at home, and they have both played international football there."
Arsenal are lacking striking options at the moment. Earlier this week Dennis Bergkamp (calf) and Sylvain Wiltord (ankle) were given a "small chance" of making Saturday's FA Cup tie with Middlesbrough while Jeremie Aliadiere will need three or four weeks to recover from the knee injury he sustained on January 10. Kanu played his final game before going to African Nations Cup in Tuesday night's Carling Cup Semi-Final first leg.
It leaves Pires and Ljungberg as options, albeit only in the short-term.
"For me they are more midfielders than second strikers or the real striker," said Wenger. "But more and more teams play five in the middle of the park against us so it could be a solution for me.
"Thierry Henry does not stay central. He tends to drift out wide so he is not the ideal striker to play on his own up front."

如果把他们直接安排在前面恐怕效果不好

同意啊，不能把Pires和 Ljungberg推上去做前锋的，Ljungberg最杀食的就是他的后上把握能力；Pires就是中场的灵魂人物。这样做只会得不偿失啊!即使光Henry一个前锋在前面就可以牵制几个对方的球员，这样也可以为Pires和 Ljungberg制造机会的。神奇Henry也可以凭自己的技术入球的。没必要这样冒险。
