Campbell is now hoping to force his way into Sven-Goran Eriksson's starting line-up in the World Cup finals after featuring in the B international defeat against Belarus on Thursday. He said: "There has been a lot of hurt over the past eight years. I have been through a lot so it has been difficult but I'm through it now. "It's all sorted now. I'm much better, much happier and much more alive. Now I just want to play football. The World Cup is football's biggest prize and I want to play a part in it." However his future with the Gunners remains under a cloud as he has already been linked with a switch to Turkish side Fenerbahce, while Premiership rivals Fulham have also reportedly expressed an interest.
