seriously, why do ppl prefer Djourou over Senderos even after he makes numerous perfect performances for Arsenal? last game against blackburn, he was simply outstanding, the best among the back four, win everything in the air and saved us millions of times.
last season, him and toure kept a 11 consecutive clean sheets in the CL, and everyone gives credit to Toure...as soon as he injuires himself during the game with spurs and was taken off for Djourou, Robbie Keane scores a goal and he misses the final, and we conceded 2 goals.
the season before, i forgot how many games, but towards the end of the season, he kept at least more than 10 clean sheets for us which brings us over man U at the end and became second, in the FA cup final, Man U had millions of chances to score a goal against us during the 120 minutes, but they didn't, beside the bad fortune, do you really think there is not a slight chance it might have been Senderos who did it?
He proved himself in big games, Bayern, Chelsea, Man U, and he proves himself in small games(too many), he has experience that Djourou doesn't have, he also has the ability that Djourou doesn't have. He knows six languages, so HE CAN'T BE STUPID, which is exactly why he finishes his job over expected even people don't think he's good enough!
Hi, William, I fully agree with your idea. Senderos is good at positioning and coordinating with other defenders, which is really an indispensable merits above all.
Besides, maybe it is a little bit superstitious, I believe Senderos is a lucky player, as to ARSENAL FC. In most cases, when he made some junior turnovers, opponents can not make a score almostly, except the one-one competition with Drogba. In contrast, Pascal Cygan, is much more junior, at this point. Oponents always make scores when he made a tiny mistake. Frankly speaking, I am not looking down upon Pascal Cygan, or biting him.
Overall, pace and speed of Djourou and Senderos are plain, in comparision with their height and body, while how to use one's advantages become more critical.
Personally speaking, I am for Senderos over Djourou.
