The former Corinthians star has been in excellent form this season, but he has started just seven Premiership games - with compatriot Gilberto Silva the preferred partner for Patrick Vieira in the league. Parreira and his assistant Mario Zagallo have been in England watching the likes of Gilberto and Juninho - who are both in their squad to face Ireland on Wednesday. However, Edu was not included and the Brazilian coach confirmed he was not picked because of his club situation. "It's because Edu is not a regular player at Arsenal," he said. "The only exception we have made to that rule was Rivaldo. "He was not a regular player when he was at Milan but he was still chosen because he already had two wonderful World Cups behind him. Edu does not. "How can we bring in a player who is not a regular in the team he plays for? We came to the Southampton match to see Edu. Unfortunately, that day the coach did not pick him. "It doesn't mean to say we have to see him play before we bring him, but it does make it easier for us to see the kind of player he is. "We hear lots of reports and read articles in Brazil about many players, but when you actually go to the ground it is not always the same." Parreira admitted that the 25-year-old still had time to land his first call-up. 'Edu's time will come. He is playing better and better for Arsenal," he said. "I think that if he keeps going the same way then he will get his chance really soon." The Brazil supremo admitted that he wished there were more Brazilians playing in England. "It is a very strong barrier," he said. "Players in England must have an EU passport or play 70 per cent of games for Brazil. "That's why it is easier for them to go to Spain, Germany or Italy." Edu在人才济济的巴西未必能打好还是为英格兰效力比较好不过在中场挤掉兰帕德杰拉德他们还需要他自己的实力

巴西的中场并不强大.... 至少较之其他一流强队中场无任何优势.... 所谓山中无老虎,猴子称大王:要不克莱伯森这种货色都能入选? 看过克莱伯森的几场球,简直是糟蹋了巴西国脚这个称号... 巴西优秀的阻截者除了我们的席尔瓦应该就是我们的Edu了他也不是仅仅的一个后场清道夫(这个吉尔伯托更像是),EDU在组织进攻上面,这个赛季也有很大的进步,我认为这个赛季Edu发挥出色也不是偶然的,按照温格的培养思路,今年也该Edu出来了... 那些认为Edu不行的,建议多看看阿森纳的比赛....

谈谈我的看法。Edu还没有实力入选国家队。 Edu的拦截能力非常有限，和Gilberto差很多，他身体太淡薄了，在对抗中没有优势。他的护球技术很好，但是突破几乎没有传球更多的是横传，又穿透力的传球也少得可怜。那些说Edu有实力进国家队的，你们是铁杆阿森纳球迷，我知道，我也是，上周末Edu进球后，我的叫声一栋房子都能听见，现在想起来觉得自己真疯狂。但是，你们太不可观了。

大致同意，但Edu不善对抗不完全是因为体格原因，而是球风本身就偏软，其实他的身体还是不错的。Edu伤在没有特点，特点不明确的球员是很难进巴西国家队的。说KLEBERSON没实力的我持保留意见，虽然在曼联的表现很一般，但世界杯上（位置在Gilberto身后偏右）他的中场拦截和斜长传是巴西队夺冠的一大保障。
