MONACO TO ASK WENGER FOR HELP
Monaco are ready to enlist the help of former coach Arsene Wenger in their bid to beat Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League.
Arsenal boss Wenger is still revered in the Principality and the club want to pick the Frenchman's brains ahead of the semi-final with Chelsea.
Wenger cultivated his coaching reputation at Stade Louis II before a spell in Japan prior to taking over at Highbury in 1996.
Ahead of next week's showdown with Chelsea, Monaco are determined to have all the necessary information available to them and want Wenger to aid their quest to plot The Blues' downfall.
"I'll be getting in touch with Arsene before next week's semi-final with Chelsea," Monaco sporting director Henri Biancheri told The Sun.
"In my opinion he is the best manager in the world and, since we are great friends too, it is the natural thing to do.
"When you have someone of such rare football intelligence, it would be wrong not to listen to what he has to say about Chelsea.
"During the seven years I worked with Arsene at Monaco, I learned to appreciate what a superb analyst of the game he is.
"We are doing thorough work ourselves. Didier Deschamps already knows some of the squad having played at Chelsea and he'll be at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to watch them play Everton."
Monaco may require all of Wenger's tactical acumen as the Gunners chief feels Chelsea are favourites to progress to the final.
Wenger commented: "Chelsea must be favourites to go through to the final. I'd say it was 70 percent in their favour.
"They are a good side, have had a good season and I don't see why that can't carry on."
