Wenger: Youth means I may not buy The quality of the young players coming through the ranks at Highbury has reduced the likelihood of Ars鑞e Wenger dipping into the transfer market when the window opens on Thursday. "At the start of the season I knew I'd lost cover for Ashley Cole when I gave Gio van Bronckhorst out to Barcelona for a year on loan," said Wenger. "But I knew I had an 18-year-old who had talent. Could he make it in the Premiership or not? At the time I didn't know. But if I had kept Van Bronckhorst you would not have seen Clichy against Wolves." Henry wins French Player of the Year Thierry Henry has been voted French Player of the Year for 2003 by France Football magazine. This time Henry topped the poll with 162 points.
