“差一点（输球），但我们也有机会赢下比赛。上半场我们表现太一般，很多方面都暴露出弱点。比赛打得不够流畅，但队员们很努力也题得不错，应该获得肯定。下半场我们踢得更好些，但比赛如想取胜，需要付出更多。”

“1：1和我们打平，博尔顿似乎很满意比赛结果。比赛最后8分钟内，我们试图赢下，但我们就是无法破门得分。”

温格与阿勒待斯同感
对于奥科查将参加非洲国家杯赛，温格表示对主教练阿勒戴斯的损失有同感。
由于非洲国家杯比赛与联赛杯半决赛时间冲突 博尔顿主教练试图留下这名状态正佳的进攻组织者参加联赛杯。温格率领的阿森纳则将在另一场半决赛中对阵米德尔斯堡队，而卡努正是因为要代表尼日利亚参加非洲国家杯，将缺席联赛杯。
“我和阿勒戴斯有同感。”温格说到。“卡努的问题也一样。

温格还未考虑购买球员。
转会市场即将重新开启，但温格还没有想好需要购买哪些球员。
去年一月，阿森纳仅签下门将沃尔姆斯，直至夏天转会离开都未有突出表现。今年新年的转会市场中，阿森纳也不会有大手笔。
“现在我并我担心，”温格说到。“转会市场将在1月开启，现在我还没有考虑。”

内德维德击败亨利当选欧洲足球先生
欧洲足球先生，即欧洲金球奖，已揭晓。
由法国足球杂志和52为记者投票评选，最终尤文及捷克中场球员内德维德当选欧洲足球先生。
阿森纳前锋亨利排名第二，AC米兰马尔蒂尼列第三。

阿森纳在公平竞赛排行榜列第2
英超公平竞赛榜上，阿森纳先列第2。本赛季前14场比赛中，阿森纳积分为491分，而排名第1的是切尔西队。
富勒姆以481分列第3，曼联则以477分排名第4。
这一排名是根据英超比赛委员评分产生的。评分标准包括红黄牌数、积极进攻表现、尊重对手、尊重裁判以及球队官员的行为。
在联赛公平行为榜上，阿森纳也以129分列第2。落后富勒姆4分，领先同列第3的切尔西和托特纳姆2分。评分是以最多10场比赛中球场中球迷等的行为为准的。

Nedved: 'Henry is the best striker'
Pavel Nedved has paid tribute to Thierry Henry after pipping him to the European Footballer of the Year award.
The Ballon D'Or, as the award is known, is judged by France Football magazine and was presented to Nedved at a ceremony on Monday.
The Czech international has enjoyed a successful year with his club side Juventus, helping the Italian giants to the Serie A title and the final of the Champions League.
However, Nedved admitted that he was surprised to eclipse Henry and another French star, Zinedine Zidane, in the European Footballer of the Year poll.
"For me, Thierry Henry is the best forward in the world now," he said.
"I am very happy. I did not think I would beat Thierry Henry, Paolo Maldini or Zinedine Zidane and if I had voted I would have voted for Thierry and for the other players on the podium.
"I am very happy for myself, my wife, my children and country but I don't know how I beat Thierry Henry or Zinedine Zidane."
Henry has enjoyed a stellar year for Arsenal. He was named Footballer of the Year by the PFA and the Football Writers' Association in May and finished second to Zidane in FIFA's World Player of the Year poll last week.

Wenger clarifies reasons for Senderos' absence
Ars鑞e Wenger has clarified the situation over the continued absence of Philippe Senderos
The Swiss centre back joined Arsenal in the summer from Servette but, apart from pre-season friendlies, he has not figured in a first-team game.
Back inflammation kept him out early on, then, on his reserve team return, he suffered a foot injury. However, according to his manager, the 18-year-old will not necessarily need surgery.
"First he had a back problem then after that he had a reoccurrence of his stress fracture in his foot," said the manager
"He had it last year but it did not heal as well as we thought it would. Then he had a set-back so he has been in and out of training since.
"The specialist said we have to be a little bit patient with him. We don't think he needs an operation but we'll make a decision in March if he is not 100 per cent perfect."

Bergkamp is 'a slight doubt' for Boxing Day clash
Dennis Bergkamp is the only major injury doubt going into the Christmas period.
Arsenal host Wolves on Boxing Day then travel to Southampton on Monday in a truncated festive campaign and they have a clean bill of health apart from their Dutch striker.
"We have no big injuries," Wenger told Arsenal.com. "There is a slight doubt for Dennis Berkgamp with a calf injury but that is basically it.
"Ashley Cole is suspended for both games and Sylvain Wiltord has a problem with this ankle but he should be OK."
Lauren is expected to make his comeback over Christmas. The fit-again full back returned at West Brom in the Carling Cup last week but was not risked at Bolton on Saturday.
"I have not made my mind up over Lauren," said Wenger. "But he'll certainly play in one of the two games."
博格坎普能否在12/26比赛中上场仍不确定
由于有伤在身，博格坎普能否在圣诞期间的比赛中上场仍未确定。

Wenger gives his half-term report
Ars鑞e Wenger has given his side nine-and-a-half out of 10 for their season so far.
Christmas is a traditional staging post in the football season and Arsenal - Champions League group winners, Carling Cup semi-finalists and unbeaten Premiership title-chasers - have made a strong start to the 2003-04 campaign.
When asked what mark he gave his team for their progress the manager replied: "Nine-and-a-half. We just miss that half point we need to be perfect.
"Don't forget we were written off in the race at the start of the season. Nobody believed in us, it was all about Chelsea and Manchester United.
"We were outsiders because we only bought Jens Lehmann and we gave out five or six players out on loan.
"But we have turned the corner in the Champions League, we are in the race for the championship and we have done well in the Carling Cup with a young team."
However the manager is well aware that the big tests are yet to come.
"You know that Christmas is important but the decisive period comes after that," he said. "In March and April every game is under huge pressure and we have experience of that."
At present Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have broken away from the Premiership pack and, to illustrate the equal standing of the three teams, all have been top of the table sometime this month.
As a further example, Wenger's men are the only unbeaten side in England - but are not top of the pile at present.
"It tells you that every point you drop can punish you very hard," he replied when faced with that statistic. "We have played 17 games, winning 11 and drawing six. Right now we are second but we could be third.
"However we have a good dynamic in the squad, they know each other well and have a good spirit.
"And I have had an exceptional pleasure working with them this season because their attitude has been spot on from the first day."

Wenger: Youth means I may not buy
The quality of the young players coming through the ranks at Highbury has reduced the likelihood of Ars鑞e Wenger dipping into the transfer market when the window opens on Thursday.
The Arsenal manager has money available to buy but he admits he has no specific targets. And he is convinced some the emerging talent at the club can bolster the squad if his resources become stretched during the second half of the season.
"I am not in the market at the moment because I do not know who I want to go for," he said. "I am not convinced by anybody right now. Money would be available but I don't want to buy just to add players. If it is right and I feel that is what we need then OK but at the moment I feel am alright."
His argument was bolstered by the performance of Gael Clichy against Wolves on Boxing Day. It was the first time the Highbury crowd had seen the 18-year-old left back start a Premiership game. Many would have gone away thinking Wenger had discovered another gem. As it turns out, opportunity and a little faith were the key factors.
"At the start of the season I knew I'd lost cover for Ashley Cole when I gave Gio van Bronckhorst out to Barcelona for a year on loan," said Wenger.
"But I knew I had an 18-year-old who had talent. Could he make it in the Premiership or not? At the time I didn't know. But if I had kept Van Bronckhorst you would not have seen Clichy against Wolves."
Clichy's story could apply to other starlets at the club.
"I have many good young players at 17, 18 or 19 who can come in and really make an impact like Ryan Smith, Quincy Owusu-Abeyie and David Bentley," he said. "These boys all have talent and it is useless to get players in unless I am convinced they are miles above them.
"For a long time I felt the young players did not have the needed quality to play for us, now I feel they do. We have worked very hard with [head of youth development] Liam Brady to change it and we have made a big improvement. It is now a matter of patience. We must wait until they are ready to play but sometimes if you don't throw them in, you don't know."

Pires has saved energy for Saints
The last thing you need as you embark upon three games in nine days is a an attritional local derby, a slog on a muddy pitch or a titantic tussle which forces you to draw on all your resources.
Fortunately for Arsenal, the Boxing Day clash with Wolves fell into a totally different category. Ars鑞e Wenger's team coasted to a 3-0 victory and were able to play within themselves.
Robert Pires was one of two players afforded the luxury of being substituted with the points in the bag, and the Frenchman believes that the nature of Friday's game will give Arsenal an advantage for tonight's trip to Southampton.
"We were lucky against Wolves because we were able to control the second half," he said. "We didn't have to put too much in and we have saved a bit of energy for tonight."
On the evidence of last season's corresponding fixture at St Mary's, Arsenal will have to dig deep. Dennis Bergkamp gave the visitors the lead but Sol Campbell's sending off amid three goals in 22 minutes swung the game in Southampton's favour.
For Pires, the day held extra significance. He gave Arsenal hope with a late consolation, his first goal after returning from seven months out with knee ligament damage.
"For me personally, I have strong memories [of the 3-2 defeat last season] because I was coming back from injury and I scored my first goal of the season there," he said.
"But it will be a difficult game because Southampton are a good team. Especially at home, they are a difficult team to beat."

Henry wins French Player of the Year
Thierry Henry has been voted French Player of the Year for 2003 by France Football magazine.
This time Henry topped the poll with 162 points. Zidane was second with 129 points while Monaco's Ludovic Giuly finished third with 67.
It is the second time Henry has been named French Player of the Year after claiming the prize in 2000. The judging panel is made up of all the former winners of the award.
"It is nice to be ahead of Zizou," Henry told France Football. "I have gained a lot of maturity and also brushed up my game tremendously this year.
"You cannot rely on talent alone anymore, unless you are a guy like Diego Maradona; in my opinion it is mental strength and hard work that really make you progress."

Wenger: 'The title race will be tight all the way'
"Well," said Ars鑞e Wenger concluding his final press conference of 2003, "I'd prefer to be 20 points clear at the top of the table but I have no choice. I just have to enjoy it."
A record of two defeats in 36 Premiership games suggests the Arsenal manager should take pride as well as enjoyment from the last year. The likes of Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell did not taste Premiership defeat at all during 2003.
Those two reverses - at Blackburn and at home to Leeds - were enough to see Arsenal lose their grip on the Premiership trophy in May but, at the turn of the year, Arsenal are tucked in behind Manchester United in this season's race. Second place, one point adrift and everything to play for.
And, as Wenger concluded the year with an old-fashioned 1-0 to the Arsenal at St Mary's, you got the feeling he is relishing the battle ahead.
"It will be tight all the way because of consistency of the teams at the top," he said. "We have 45 points after 19 games and are second. But we have played 10 away games and nine home games. Manchester United are the reverse.
"They have 46 points so far and if you multiply that by two it is 92. That is a huge figure."
In the last two seasons 83 and 87 points have been enough to capture the crown.
At the moment, the title race seems to have only three runners - Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea. Wenger still feels others could come up on the rails.
"You expected Liverpool and Newcastle to fight up there," he said. "I don't know if they will come back or not but it will certainly be very tight."

Arsenal's statistical record for 2003
Monday night's 1-0 victory at Southampton ensured that Patrick Vieira and Sol Campbell completed a whole calendar year without tasting defeat in the Premiership.
Arsenal's captain and the team's defensive rock missed the only two domestic defeats suffered by Arsenal in 2003 - a 2-0 loss at Blackburn and the 3-2 defeat against Leeds which confirmed Manchester United as champions.
Those two blips aside, Arsenal have a magnificent domestic record for 2003. They have won 23 of their 36 Premiership games, an impressive 64 percent, and scored 78 goals at an average of more than two per League game.
The Gunners' record-breaking unbeaten start to the current campaign has significantly boosted their statistical record for the year. To date, Arsenal have not lost in 19 games from the start of the season.
Of course, Arsenal's FA Cup triumph also makes for pleasant reading. Ars鑞e Wenger's team won six of their seven FA Cup ties in 2003, culminating in a 1-0 victory over Southampton in the final at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
Arsenal are also unbeaten in the Carling Cup in 2003 after advancing to the semi-finals for the first time since the Double season of 1997-98.
Their Champions League record for the year is less impressive but has been transformed by three successive victories which saw Arsenal qualify for the last 16 of the competition earlier this month.
